Movements

Prayer Movement

Prayer Movement “is when at least 1,000 people are mobilized across multiple streams down to the fourth generation to pray, consistently and persistently, over a three to four-year period until we see God’s glory infiltrate our world.” (Perbi and Coomson, 2024).

  • ‘Hi 5’ Groups | An inspired person finds five other people who together:
  1. Pray to the Lord of the harvest at 10:02/9:38 each day to make Christians truly disciples of Christ as well as make other people Christ’s disciples.
  2. Pray for the person on your prepared Prayer Calendar for that day (via voice or text).
  3. Pray for the Unreached People Group of the day (local and global).
  4. Pray for each other in ‘Hi 5’ Groups (per their news/requests).
  5. Pray based on current news: missionary/mission agency newsletters, national and global affairs.

Entrust each person in your ‘Hi 5’ Group to form theirs too

  1. Bow in Prayer for (and with)/ people you're seeking to engage. Begin with prayer
  2. Look & Listen to be aware of the needs of those around you
  3. Eat with neighbours (practice hospitality in general)
  4. Serve with love and compassion by meeting their needs or taking them to those who can (also allow them to be blessed by serving you). Speak on their behalf.
  5. Share in their story (ask life/value questions), share your story, share in God's story (share your faith)-after you have prayed, looked and listened, eaten and served.
